For more than twenty-five years, I have practiced pediatrics — and from the beginning, I understood that the work was never just about diagnosing ear infections or administering immunizations. Pediatricians are coaches. We sit with parents in the middle of their real lives and help them translate what they know into what they actually do, in their own families, on their own terms.

That understanding has shaped everything I have done since.

I chose academic medicine deliberately — not in spite of its complexity, but because of its reach. By teaching and mentoring hundreds of residents over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to influence the care of far more children than I ever could have seen in my own practice. I have always been drawn to the force multiplier — the investment in a person that ripples outward in ways you may never fully see, but can trust are real.

That same instinct has guided my leadership work. In academic medical centers, in state and national nonprofit organizations, and in local and regional faith communities, I have had the privilege of coaching physicians, emerging leaders, and established executives as they have navigated the tension that comes with building a meaningful career while caring for the people they love and staying true to the values that define them.

That tension — the tug of war between career, family, and faith — is not a problem to be solved. It is the terrain of a life that actually matters. My work is helping people lead well within it.

My ideal client is a mid-career professional who feels that pull acutely. They are accomplished. They are capable. And they are ready for a coach who takes seriously not just where they are trying to go, but who they are trying to remain in the process — someone who understands that career, relationships, and faith are not competing priorities to be balanced, but integrated dimensions of a single life.

Trinity Leadership Coaching takes its name from that conviction. Trinity reflects my own faith journey and the sense of calling that brought me to this work. It honors a values-based approach to coaching. And it names the triad at the center of the work itself: career, family and relationships, and faith.

My satisfaction has always been in watching someone I have coached step into their own — knowing that even a small role in that moment carries a ripple that reaches far beyond what either of us will ever fully see.
